NOAA網頁的methodology有寫THCP的定義喔

The tropical cyclone heat potential, is defined here as a
measure of the integrated vertical temperature from the sea
surface to the depth of the 26—C isotherm.

所以簡單地說就是上層海水 (從海面到溫度26度C的深度）
所含有的熱能(heat content熱含量, 也就是enthalpy焓)

NRL也有HHC(HHT)的定義

HHC - "hurricane heat content" or "hurricane heat potential," defined here
as in Leipper and Volgenau (1972) as the integrated heat content down to the
26 C isotherm relative to water of 26 C, that is,
HHC=sum [ rho * Cp * (T-26) * delta-z ] for z < Z26 .
The value goes to zero as the SST reaches 26 C, and is fixed at a high value
(50 kcal/cm2) where the water is warmer than 26 C to the bottom.

(rho是密度 Cp是定壓比熱 T是溫度 delta-z是上層海水厚度
看單位 kcal/cm2就很清楚啦)

所以就是海水提供的可感熱 只是有沒有除Cp的差別


: HP直翻成潛熱會與 latent heat搞混、重複，也許用「熱潛勢」會比較好
: 只是 TCHP 或 HHP要叫啥？ 「颱熱潛勢」？ 「颶熱潛勢」？

Potential一般的確是翻成「潛勢」
