Report: Ozone Hole May Disappear by 2050 (AP): "AP - The ozone hole over the Antarctic is likely to begin contracting in the future and may disappear by 2050 because of a reduction in the release of chlorofluorocarbons and other ozone-depleting gases, according to a team of Japanese scientists.
The findings are based on a series of numerical simulations carried out by Eiji Akiyoshi of the National Institute for Environmental Studies, near Tokyo, using projected emissions of chlorofluorocarbons and other gases blamed for the ozone hole..."

International Treaty Designed to Restore/Protect Ozone Layer Working, Say Scientists: "Countries world wide have controlled the production and use of ozone-eating chlorine compounds, and the Earth's atmosphere appears to be recovering from losses of 'good' ozone in the upper reaches of the atmosphere. These findings were published in the journal Nature. A paper by Betsy Weatherhead, a scientist working at the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory in Boulder, Colo., and Signe Bech Andersen, of the Danish Meteorological Institute details an apparent leveling off of ozone loss as a result of the Montreal Protocol. This international agreement was first enacted in 1987 to control ozone-depleting chemicals in the atmosphere and was since signed by 180 countries."

嗯....個人覺得這篇報導在科學方面的解釋有點...語焉不詳
下面就雞婆做點補充好了 給對細節有興趣的板友參考
大氣中有某幾類的懸浮粒子是會吸收輻射的
像是含有黑碳(black carbon)的粒子 會吸收太陽光
或是沙塵粒子 主要會吸收長波輻射 （有點類似溫室氣體 但效應相比之下弱很多）

這裡提供一個沙塵暴可能帶來的好處
經由科學家的發現
沙塵暴由將地表吹起的塵土經由高空西風噴流
吹到了日本甚至遠及美國東部
而這些塵土就成了這些地區冰核(IN)的主要來源
這些冰核可能會引起成冰過程
